This week, Durham saw lots of winter weather. You might not realize there are hundreds of seniors in Durham who are relying on volunteers and good neighbors to lend a hand during rough weather. That’s where Meals on Wheels of Durham steps in. Volunteers distributed more than 600 extra meals this past Monday–that’s enough food to last seniors three days. Volunteers distributed food because rough road conditions prevented deliveries from happening. Do your part and sign up to volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
You can also do your part to care for Durham’s seniors and help your senior neighbors create a plan for bad weather. This can include knowing your neighbor’s needs, seeing if they need anything, such as batteries, food, or electricity. Do your part to show #DurhamSeniors you care.
