#DurhamSeniors – Reducing Isolation

Half of Durham’s 26,000 seniors live alone or are isolated. Take a look at this infographic below to learn why our seniors experience isolation. The good news is there are several nonprofits working to reduce isolation for our seniors. Consider volunteering with A Helping Hand, which provides companion care for Durham’s seniors. Get involved with the Durham Center for Senior Life. Help a senior navigate the health care system by becoming a volunteer at Senior PharmAssist. Deliver a meal to a senior through Meals on Wheels and make a new friend.
