Volunteer – Early Childhood

Did you know that 40 percent of children enrolled in early childhood education will still be in school at age 21?  Volunteering with organizations like Durham’s Partnership for Children & Welcome Baby can change a child’s life.

Day 1

Hundreds of new babies are born each year in Durham County.  Thankfully, there are several organizations working to make sure that each child has a bright future ahead of them.  Did you know more than 25,000 children under the age of five live in Durham County?  Nearly half of those children come from low-income families.

Collaboration is vital to help our youngest neighbors succeed.  A child’s brain continues to develop years after their birth; it’s not too late to impact Durham’s future.  Providing parents with affordable, accessible, high-quality child care options will impact the Durham community for the better.  Volunteering to impact a child’s life before formal schooling starts can have a positive effect years down the road.
