Save the Date: Week of Hope 2010 July 11-18
The Week of Hope is a catalytic event connected to a growing movement within the RDU metroplex. Over the past four years the Week of Hope has mobilized thousands of volunteers and given more than $200,000 for the purpose of meeting needs within multiple communities. In the past, this has included large scale projects such as building homes with Habitat for Humanity, beautification projects at local elementary schools, and free medical and dental clinics.
Anyone can be a part of the Week of Hope. We can utilize people from professionals to caring people with novice skill sets. We also seek to provide opportunities for families to volunteer together. We believe that we should model this type of volunteerism to younger generations.
The Week of Hope is larger than one church, one civic group, or one local charity. The Week of Hope seeks to provide opportunities for caring people to meet actual needs within their local community. Our goal is to live out the biblical principal that we should love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves (Leviticus 19:18 & Luke 10:27).
