The Churches of Durham’s Plantation

April 30 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Durham is home to Stagville, one of North Carolina’s largest plantations that enslaved thousands of people. What role did faith play in both justifying slavery, and in inspiring hope and liberation? Join us as we hear from historians, descendants, and the faith leaders whose churches – white and black – trace their roots to Stagville Plantation, and learn how we can reckon with Durham’s legacy of slavery today.
