DurhamCares Community Gathering

Join us for a gathering to build community and learn more about how we can love our neighbors in Durham. All our welcome, no RSVP necessary, and light refreshments will be provided. This event repeats the second Thursday of each month.


Corner House Community Pilgrimage

Closed group pilgrimage. The Durham Pilgrimage of Pain and Hope is a journey of discovering how your spiritual journey is connected to the place you live. Through speakers who have shaped Durham’s history, visiting important sites, and going through the weekend with a group of 20 pilgrims, participants will learn how Durham’s story, their stories, and God’s story connect.

The Churches of Durham’s Plantation

Durham is home to Stagville, one of North Carolina’s largest plantations that enslaved thousands of people. What role did faith play in both justifying slavery, and in inspiring hope and liberation? Join us as we hear from historians, descendants, and the faith leaders whose churches – white and black – trace their roots to Stagville Plantation, and learn how we can reckon with Durham’s legacy of slavery today.


East Durham Church Breakfast

The Church Mobilization Network is an initiative to cultivate place-based cohorts of churches that partner together to make a positive impact on their neighborhoods. At this breakfast we will come together that we may meet with our neighbors and hear how they have been effected by the ever changing housing landscape in Durham. As we listen to our community we will be in conversation about how we may create change in the affordability and accessibility of housing for our community.…
